What is the main application of cement blanket?

In the product introduction of some building material companies abroad, the cement blanket adopts the 3D fiber matrix woven by polyethylene and polypropylene filament, and contains dry concrete mix with special formula. The main chemical components of calcium aluminate cement are Al2O3, Cao, SiO2 and Fe2O3. The bottom of the canvas is covered with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) backing to ensure that the cement blanket is completely waterproof.

On February 8, 2011, in order to prevent the waste coal gangue from scouring the drainage ditch, the coal mine in kaffi County, Wales, UK, used bulk large roll cement blanket to lay a layer, reaching 2000 square meters.

It is reported that during the construction of cement blanket on site, there is no need for any concrete mixing equipment on the site, as long as the cement blanket is simply watered or soaked in water to make it hydrated. After solidification, the fiber can strengthen the concrete and prevent cracking.

The main applications of cement blanket are as follows:

Compared with the application of traditional cement concrete, cement blanket has the advantages of simple use, rapid solidification molding, environment-friendly and flexible application. The cement blanket prepared by foreign manufacturers can be supplied in bulk or in rolls, which is convenient for manual loading and unloading and transportation without the need of large lifting machinery. The concrete is prepared according to the scientific proportion, which does not need to be prepared on site, and the problem of excessive hydration will not occur.

Once the hydration reaction occurs, the cement blanket can still be processed within 2 hours, and it can harden to 80% strength within 24 hours. According to the special requirements of users, special formula can be used to achieve rapid solidification or delayed solidification. British Rail network operators have designated cement blankets in a reinforced railway embankment. The 100 meter long drain was repaired in less than eight hours.

Generally speaking, some of our media in China regard it as the "artifact" independently invented in China. In fact, similar products have been invented and applied for relevant patents nearly 10 years ago, which are also used in different degrees around the world.

2、 Characteristics of new cement blanket

Compared with traditional cement-based composite materials, cement blanket has two major characteristics

1、 Different preparation methods. Cement blanket is to fill the fabric with cement powder through the porous surface of three-dimensional fabric in advance, and then apply sealant on the surface of fabric to prevent cement powder from leaking out;

2、 The construction methods are different. The traditional cement-based materials are formed by mixing with water, while the cement blanket is to lay the prepared cement blanket on the working surface and directly spray water to harden. Cement blanket has good flexibility before watering and hardening, so it can be directly covered on the surface of objects of various shapes like cloth. After hardening, it forms a thin, water-resistant, fire-resistant, durable and excellent mechanical performance concrete layer.
